AI Satranç — Privacy Policy

AI Satranç does not collect your personal data. No account, no sign-in, and no information from you is required.

1. Data That Stays on Your Device

The following is stored only on your own device and is never transmitted:

The games you play and the moves you make
Your game archive and statistics
The AI’s learning history
Your app settings

Deleting the app removes all of it from your device.

2. The “Collective Brain” Feature

The app merges your AI’s learning with that of other players: every player’s brain is connected to the collective brain, so what others have learned reaches you and what you have learned reaches them. In version 1.0 the feature can be turned off with the Join the collective brain setting at the bottom of the Progress tab; in later versions it is on for everyone and has no separate setting. If you are not signed in to iCloud on your device, or the app’s iCloud access is switched off in your device settings, no contribution is sent; the app keeps working.

As part of this feature, only these two things are sent:

The numerical difference of the neural network weights. This is a list of numbers describing how much the values in the AI’s brain changed. It contains no games, moves, text or personal information, and the games you played cannot be reconstructed from it.
A randomly generated installation number. Created the first time the app launches, it is unrelated to your identity, your device or your Apple account. Its only purpose is to keep a single device from influencing the shared model disproportionately. Deleting and reinstalling the app generates a new one.

This data is stored in Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure. No separate server is used. CloudKit stamps every record written to its public database with an anonymous user number tied to the uploader’s iCloud account; it does not contain your name or email, but it is the same for all contributions from the same account. The app uses it only to avoid counting one person’s contribution more than once.

3. What Is Not Collected

Name, email, phone number or any other contact details
Location data
Contacts, photos or other app data
Advertising identifiers
Usage analytics

The app contains no advertising network, no analytics tool and no other third-party software. No user tracking is performed.

4. Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from children either.

5. Changes

If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the date above will be revised.
